FORMAT OF MEETING
This advanced course should be a very interactive meeting combining faculty with experience and the attendees with experience. All of us can gain more experience and knowledge. 10 Groups of about 8-10 surgeons will be formed at random, with 2 members of the faculty who will lead the discussion. After each session, questions, cases, problems and topics will be discussed and everybody, either individually or in the group will be able to vote with a special voting system. AT THE END OF THE MEETING a general conclusion/ CONCENSUS will be made and later will be published in a booklet or online with a pdf file.
All presentations will be short - only 5 MINUTES long. (So start with your conclusion!)
The chairman introduces and enforces the exact time scheduling
There will be a clock countdown of 5 minutes. At 5 minutes a "gag"video will be shown and the next speaker will start his presentation from the other lectern.
The discussion is chaired by Seth Greenwald / Pat Campbell / Catherine Vanderstraeten
To start the discussion, questions and answers are done with the voting system. There will be personal and group answers. The discussions will be done in groups and the panel is made up of the faculty group leaders . All discussions are guided by the chairs. The comments or answers made by the panel (eventually personally by the attendees) should be short!
3 faculty members will make a general conclusion after each session and this will be presented afterwards as a talk
Erwin Jansegers / Christophe Pattyn / Richie Gill
All attendees will have to answer several questions and will be personally scored. At the end of the meeting there will be a prize for the first 2 winners (faculty excluded). (The results of the Thursday evening "GHENT WALK" will be included).
From time to time the scores will be projected, with a final score at the end of FRIDAY
